DJKL is a non-profit organization in operation since 2013, helping feed the urban poor and marginalized in Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur. DJKL’s soup kitchen is run by a group of volunteers in Jalan Panggong, Kuala Lumpur, every Sunday. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, DJKL has not only delivered food aid to those affected as a result of the MCOs, but also extended their services by opening Kaunter Rakyat, bridging the gap of digital inequality and helping the urban poor to access Government aid such as Bantuan Prihatin Kasih, vaccination rollout and others.
